Parade Application

Dear Friends of the Parade:

We are celebrating our 44th anniversary of the Cape Verdean Recognition Parade. The parade will be held Saturday, July 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. We invite you to join our celebration by participating in this year’s parade. Help us celebrate the diversity and multiculturalism that our community embodies as we honor Cape Verdean culture and heritage.

PARADE CHECK LIST
• Wear costumes and decorate vehicles and/or floats.
• Compete in the Float Contest (see enclosed letter)
• Accurately complete the enclosed parade registration form and return no later than June 11, 2016.
• All for profit businesses participating in the parade are required to submit at least a $50.00 donation with their application.

All units are to check in no later than 9:00 a.m. at the parade starting point located at the intersection of Rockdale Avenue and Union Street at Buttonwood Park. The parade route is as follows:

Travels down Union Street, turn right onto Acushnet Ave., turn right onto Grinnell Street, turn right onto Purchase Street. The parade will end at the reviewing stand located at the Verdean Vet’s Memorial Hall on Purchase Street.

All units will pass and review then continue to march past the reviewing stand in order to allow the remainder of the
parade units to also pass and review.

If you would like to make a contribution to the Parade Fund, please make check or money orders payable to the CV Recognition Parade Committee. Help us keep the parade alive!
